Mandi's Chapel Named Top Building by AIA Florida
The beauty and wonder of north Florida has been recognized by the Florida Chapter of The American Institute of Architects (AIA Florida) in naming Mandi's Chapel as the top religious building and ranked second overall building in the AIA Florida, Florida Architecture: 100 Years 100 Places competition.

Mandi's Chapel was given in memory of Mandi Petway by her parents, Tom and Betty Petway.  Mandi's Chapel was designed by John Zona, AIA.  Mandi's Chapel was designed to be a public yet sacred place.  Thank you for your vote!

Suwannee Chamber Holds Ribbon Cutting For Live Oak Realty

Households Affected by TS Debbie and NEED Help

Volunteers from World Renew, formerly Christian Reformed World Relief Committee (CRWRC), will be in Suwannee and Columbia counties beginning Monday, Jan. 7, 2013 to assist households affected by Tropical Storm Debby who may need additional assistance.

 World Renew will open walk-in centers Wed., Jan. 9, through Wed., Jan. 16, from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Suwannee County residents may visit the walk-in center at Suwannee County Emergency Management (EOC), 617 Ontario Avenue SW, Suite 200, Live Oak.

Columbia County residents may visit the walk-in center at Columbia County Senior Services Lifestyle Enrichment Center, 628 SE Allison Court, Lake City.

Governor Scott and Local Leaders announce Klausner Lumber One to bring 350 jobs to Suwannee County

Governor Rick Scott today announced the construction in Suwannee County of the Klausner Lumber One sawmill, a high-tech facility that will create 350 permanent jobs and inject $130 million in capital over three years.  Construction on the site will require 700 additional positions.

Governor Rick Scott said, “In addition to creating hundreds of employment opportunities for Florida’s families and further growing the state’s economy, the construction of this facility represents true partnerships between many different local and statewide organizations. Their efforts will create 350 new jobs for Florida families in this community.  We welcome Klausner Lumber One to our state.”

Friedrich Klausner of Klausner Lumber One said, “This project has been a huge undertaking with many challenges that we have been able to work through with Suwannee County.  But this is inevitable with a project of this size.  The significant impact on this region has made it all worthwhile!  We are pleased to be here and will be good corporate citizens in this community.”
